The work of my thesis is part of a larger project which was initiated by the work of Dr. Francisca Caballero, working with high-silicon bainitic steels, in the course of that work is was revealed that good properties could also be achieved with high-carbon high-silicon bainitic steels. The work is currently being developed by Dr. Carlos Garcia Mateo, and i am studying the mechanism of transformation and the tempering behavoiur.
