Converting .tex to .doc

When people think Word format is a standard

use the program latex2rtf, then open rtf in word

If you have lots of images, use latex2rtf with -D option "latex2rtf -D 75 FILENAME.tex" as documented in the 'man page' will speed up the process by limiting the resolution of the images to 75 dpi.

If you try to make word document this way using open office the file size will be very large (more than 12 Mb for me although my file contained images).

I didn't have any equations in my tex file, but the way it dealt with my degree symbols which used math mode, i'm pretty sure they will get mangled. More added here next time I try no doubt.
